Established in 2003, SalsaJay is an unorthodox dance school that offers salsa lessons and other latin ballroom dance classes in a fun and encouraging pressure-free environment. At its core, is a community of friends who gets together weekly to train, learn, and catch up about all things related to Salsa and life! Hence, SalsaJay’s motto: It’s about Having Fun!

Instructors

Jeamie Lee

Principal Instructor

Jeamie is the Founder and Principal Instructor of SalsaJay Dance Academy. A dancer since the age of 5, Jeamie has been trained in classical ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, salsa, and latin ballroom. She has been teaching Salsa for 5 years, and has choreographed performances for numerous companies’ events and galas.

Her list of accolades includes having won 2nd place at a salsa competition organized by Harian Metro in 2004, and 1st and 2nd place finish for hip-hop team category at several dance competitions organized by the Malaysian Dance Sport Berhad, an organization which works in hand with the Malaysian Olympic Council.

Besides teaching, Jeamie is also part of the Balainismo Dance Group, Malaysia’s sought-after premiere dancing and performing group. Together with the Group, she has performed at the 2006 & 2007 Malaysian International Salsa Festival, and at the 1st Malaysian World Latin Salsa Congress.

Fai

Class Assistant/Instructor

Having immersed himself into the salsa scene some 5 years ago, he has performed for various dance groups, most notably with Bailanismo at the Malaysian Salsa Festival, and SalsaJay. Known for his groove and enthusiasm for the latin rhythms, Fai is much sought after on the dance floor. He has confessed that he loves salsa for its intricate moves, the blistering spins and of course for being able to be fun and cheeky with a partner!
